Star Urchins - Translucent Porcelain Earring

A tribute to the textures of the Surf Coast. These earrings are hand-shaped from fine Australian porcelain, carrying the detailed imprint of a single weathered urchin shell found along the Lorne shoreline.

Using this found fragment as a tool, I roll the texture over extremely thin porcelain to create a piece that is delicate and translucent when held to the light. These are left unglazed to preserve the raw, tactile 'bisque' finish of the clay - honouring the organic feel of the ocean's debris.

High-fired for strength, they remain incredibly light, designed to be worn and felt.
