About

Founded in Lorne in 2022, Blackhirst Handmade is a small creative practice on Victoria's Surf Coast, dedicated to the art of the slow-made object and continual learning with different creative projects.

Currently moving between jewellery and hand-formed ceramics, my work is tied together with a love for blues, coastal textures and refined, minimalist forms.

Il Vetro Jewellery

My first real passion project. Each piece is crafted using recycled 14k gold-filled metal and 925 sterling silver, paired with salvaged glass. From Bombay Sapphire gin bottles to sea glass gathered along the Surf Coast, these materials are kiln-fired and sculpted into one-of-a-kind designs that carry a previous life within them.

Ceramics

After years of practicing pottery as a personal creative outlet, I am finally dedicating the time to share my work in clay. My focus is on transforming everyday pieces into beautiful, tactile objects.

This journey also brings my two passions together: tying jewellery making into ceramics through the creation of porcelain earrings.

Every object is made by hand in my home workspace in Lorne, and sent out in an Il Vetro box.
